We’re committed to providing long-term solutions for our customers while protecting the environment, which is why our electric vehicle (EV) charging station installations allow tenants, staff, fleet vehicles and visitors to charge safely without overloading your building’s electrical capacity.
Our electricians specialise in power distribution and switchboards, which means every installation begins with a proper assessment of your building’s electrical infrastructure before charging systems are installed.
Installing EV chargers isn’t always as simple as mounting a unit and plugging it in. Many commercial and strata buildings first need their electrical capacity assessed to guarantee the system can support EV charging safely.
Switchboard Solutions specialises in switchboards and power distribution, which means we understand exactly how EV charging infrastructure needs to integrate with your building’s electrical system. We’re trusted by businesses and facility managers across the greater Brisbane region to install or upgrade systems so they integrate properly within existing electrical infrastructure.
With our easy Brisbane EV charger installations, you can:

Fill out the form below and we’ll organise a quick quote
Our team will meet and do an initial consultation with you (and any other parties involved) about your EV charger needs. We’ll discuss charger options, potential charging locations, and budget and billing requirements.
We’ll conduct a thorough investigation of the current switchboard and its power capacity. What we find will determine our recommendations about the right EV charger options available for your site.
Once we determine the available options, we’ll discuss them with you and any relevant parties (e.g., body corporate managers, owners, tenants, load management suppliers, etc.) to determine the preferred EV charger solution.
We’ll then provide a detailed quote to all parties that’ll outline all the required infrastructure costs for your new EV charger, as well as answer any questions about the products, costs, process, and the finished product.
After the quote is approved by all required parties, our team of specialist electricians will safely and seamlessly install the new EV charging station at the specified location.
After installation, we’ll provide regular maintenance and reviews for your EV charging network to ensure that all infrastructure continues to work to the highest capacity and at peak efficiency.
Our friendly team are here to help out with any questions you might have.
This depends on the EV charging system used at your complex and load management system being used. The compatible charger can be supplied by either the client or the installation company.
Possibly, depending on the condition and configuration of your existing switchboard. If your switchboard is over 15 years old, it’s likely that some major modifications or upgrades will be required.
Yes. There are a few different ways this can be achieved. The solution will depend on how automated the decision makers would like the installation to be. The existing power infrastructure and configuration of the building is also important to help determine the final solution.
If there is no ceiling cavity, which is usually the case in a car park, a cable tray will be installed in an efficient way to deliver cables to each parking space. Once the cable leaves the cable tray, it is usually installed in a protective conduit to its final destination – the electric vehicle charger.
With modern technology, it is possible to install many chargers on an existing installation. A power monitoring system will monitor power loads being generated by the electric vehicles and by the rest of the building in general, and can ramp power up and down to the chargers as required to keep the main power supply from overloading.
However, other factors such as the capacity of the main power supply and current power usage also need to be considered before determining how many chargers can be installed.
This depends on the current capacity of the existing power supply and how many chargers are being installed. The more chargers you install, the more likely a power supply upgrade is required.
Most chargers can be configured to offer quicker or slower charging rates. However, if a load management system is installed, it will dictate what rate of electricity supply is delivered to each charger. Other considerations (such as body corporate by-laws) need to be taken into account.
