How long it takes to charge an electric vehicle (EV) in Australia can differ significantly due to a few different factors.

  • EV Battery size
  • State of battery
  • Charge rate of vehicle
  • Charge rate of charger

Charging time for a private, level 1 charger can take anywhere from 20 – 30 hours to get a full EV. When a person connects to a DC fast charger ( Level 3), it can be as quick 30mins to an hour! We are finding that most of our multi tenanted and commercial clients are choosing to install Level 2 or Level 3 charging stations to meet the needs of their users. Individual home owners often ask our electricians to install a level 1, or if they do more travel and require a full tank each day, then a Level 2 charger.
