We tell you the expected duration at the quoting stage, can work after hours or on weekends to suit businesses and residents, and help prepare notices for tenants or occupants. For larger sites we can stage the works or arrange temporary power so critical equipment stays running.
Smaller boards we can source immediately are usually completed within 2–4 weeks; larger custom-built switchboards typically take 3–5 months because the board must be manufactured first.
Every upgrade is completed by licensed electricians to AS/NZS 3000 (the Wiring Rules) and the Queensland Electricity Connection and Metering Manual, with RCD safety switch protection and full testing before the board is re-energised.

No, we don’t build or manufacture switchboards. We specialise in the upgrade, installation, and optimisation of commercial and industrial switchboards across South East Queensland.
For smaller switchboards that we can source immediately, the turnaround time is usually 2-4 weeks. For larger, customised switchboards, the process usually takes 3-5 months, since the switchboard needs to be built first before the installation.
Yes, we need access to anywhere there is an electrical point in the building so we can complete mandatory testing. If we can’t get access to an area, it will remain de-energised until we can complete testing there.
That largely depends on the size and complexity of the switchboard upgrade. However, we will fully inform you of the duration of the proposed power outage at the quoting stage.
Common signs include ceramic fuses instead of circuit breakers, no RCD safety switches, frequent tripping, scorch marks or a burning smell, a buzzing board, or a board with no spare space for new circuits such as EV chargers, solar or air conditioning.
Cost depends on the size of the board, whether mains or metering need to change, supply authority fees and access. We provide a free on-site inspection and a fixed quote that lists any fees we cannot fix in advance.
By law, the installation must be brought up to the current Queensland Electricity Metering & Connection standards when you upgrade your system.
We account for most of the fees within our price. At times, we give an estimate for certain aspects of a job if a firm price cannot be finalised during the quoting stage. These can be fees from an electricity retailer, services locator, building works (if required), fault finding, etc. Our extensive experience means you will get as close to a fixed price as possible for the job.

Yes. We prepare and lodge the required notifications with Energex and your electricity retailer and coordinate any meter changes, so you do not have to.
Yes. Once the new switchboard is installed and tested, we issue a Certificate of Testing and Safety confirming the work complies with Australian Standards.
