Search for “switchboards Brisbane” and you’ll find two very different kinds of businesses: switchboard manufacturers and switchboard installers. They work on the same piece of equipment, but they do different jobs. Knowing the difference helps you contact the right team first and get an accurate quote.
The short answer
Manufacturers build the physical switchboard in a workshop. Installers fit, connect and certify it on site. Switchboard Solutions goes further: we design your board, organise and manage its construction and pre-wiring, then install, test and certify it. One team, one complete switchboard solution.
Off site · in a workshop
Start to finish · that’s us
A switchboard manufacturer (also called a switchboard builder or fabricator) builds the physical board in a workshop, usually from drawings supplied by an engineer or electrical contractor. The finished board is delivered to site for someone else to install. Manufacturers don’t assess your site, connect the board to your building’s supply, deal with Energex or certify the installation.
We’re licensed electricians who look after the whole switchboard project. We work out what your site needs, design the board, organise its construction and pre-wiring with our trusted manufacturing partner, Aussie Switchboards, and manage that build as part of the job. Then our own team installs, tests and certifies it. You deal with one team from the first inspection to the final certificate, which avoids the errors that creep in when too many people are involved. Our installation work is done to AS/NZS 3000 (the Wiring Rules) and the Queensland Electricity Connection and Metering Manual.

Large sites often need a custom-built main switchboard. You deal with one team, and that team instructs, coordinates and manages the construction of your switchboard as part of the process. Because one team owns every step, nothing gets lost between designer, builder and installer.
